Our Goals: In the Bear Den, there are six required adventures, Bobcat (getting to know Scouts and your den,) Bear Strong (physical fitness,) Standing Tall (personal safety,) Fellowship (family and reverence,) Paws for Action (citizenship,) and Bear Habitat (outdoors.) This is the year your child will grow in amazing ways. After earning their Bear Badge, the scout may earn additional elective adventure belt loops utilizing different outdoor and STEAM skills.

Summary: Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den.  The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook in our tracking Software.  The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, but you will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he graduates to Webelos.

About the Leader: Willis has been involved with scouting most of his life. He was a part of Toledo Area Packs 55 and 66, and earned his Eagle rank with Troop 66 in 2005. He rejoined Scouting in 2017 when his youngest son entered the Lion program, and has been in various leadership roles since. All four of his children are involved with Scouting across three different units due to their ages and genders. When he is not peddling popcorn or soliciting for volunteers on the pack's behalf, he is the Lead Pharmacy Technician at a local Walmart, helping his children with their homework, or remodeling his home with is wonderful wife Becky.
